Burnout is brutal. You might be feeling wiped out all the time. Or completely overwhelmed by trying to keep up with your day-to-day responsibilities. You may also be feeling overwhelm by the political scene and feeling grief and helplessness about the climate crisis. You are not feeling like the friend, mom or partner you want to be, but just getting through the days is rough.
I have a colleague who in the beginning of the pandemic used the term “toomuchness,” and it so captured something I was witnessing and experiencing firsthand. That theme of toomuchness continues as we struggle to balance the parts of our individual lives within a larger world of country and globe that has unprecedented and overwhelming problems. Trying to find a sense of calm and safety and purpose amidst the toomuchness is so challenging, and yet, we are here and we matter and earth matters. Let’s find both moments of joy and beauty and find ways to engage your energy in the places that feel most meaningful to you.
