Therapy for burnout.

A dried and twisty piece of wood

burnout.

Burnout is brutal.

Whether you are struggling with job burnout, political burnout, or ecoanxiety, we can work together to best support you during this time of deep exhaustion and overwhelm. We will explore where and how you truly want to expend your finite energy in this one precious life.

Burnout is becoming an increasingly common feature of our society, but it’s not normal.

Burnout is the result of overwhelm.

You may feel wiped out all the time. Completely exhausted by trying to keep up with your day-to-day responsibilities.

There is also major overwhelm caused by the political scene, and grief and helplessness about the climate crisis.

Some days, you just feel numb.

I have a colleague who in the beginning of the pandemic coined the term “toomuchness.” It so captured something I was witnessing and experiencing firsthand. That theme of toomuchness continues as we struggle to balance our individual lives within a larger context of this country and globe that has unprecedented and immense problems.

Trying to find a sense of calm, safety and purpose amidst the toomuchness is so challenging, and yet, we are here and we matter and earth matters.

how i can help

In therapy for burnout, our goal is to recover your energy and re-engage it in the places that feel most meaningful to you. I want to help you feel more balanced and find moments of pause to relish the joy, beauty and nourishment of this remarkable world.

We will cocreate a nurturing space for you to:

  • Explore and express your feelings

  • Learn how to soothe your frayed nerves, including through body-based coping

  • Help you find what you are needing

  • Think through making sustainable life changes

  • Grieve what cannot be changed
